Schlumberger has a long history of trade with Japanese companies, having first provided Schlumberger's new technique of "Electrical Coring" in 1936.
In September of that year, we first performed electrical logging in Kashiwazaki, Niigata. In 1956, more advanced logging technology was introduced, and a base was opened in Sakata (moved to Akita afterward).
A center base for Wireline logging was opened in Nagaoka, Niigata in 1957. Nagaoka office is now a part of Schlumberger K. K., and is still providing latest oilfield services to major oil and gas companies in Japan. |
